Rev. Rick Moser - Pastor
Originally from Hagerstown, Maryland, Rick graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1974 and from Duke University Divinity School in 1977. Ordained as an elder in 1978, he is currently in his sixth appointment, coming to Northwoods in 2002. His wife, Rachel, is also an ordained elder and a pastor at Swansboro UMC. They have three sons; Ben (and Andi), Zack, and Tim who all live in the Raleigh-Durham area.
Elizabeth Soukup - Secretary
Elizabeth is originally from Redlands, CA and joined Northwoods UMC in January 1995 after moving here with her family. She was hired in February 2008 to be the church secretary. Elizabeth is married and has 3 daughters all of whom have graduated from Richlands High School. Her husband, Ken, is retired from the US Navy. The family enjoys reading, music and get-togethers in the back yard with friends.
Diana Evans - Organist
Hi! I'm Diana Evans. I am married and have 5 sons. We have lived here in Jacksonville since 1994. I hold degrees in business, computer programming, and elementary education. This next year I hope to gain NC licensures to teach music and/or middle grades math. I have been active in music ministry since 1997 and am so excited to be part of the Northwoods family.
James Bozarth - Custodian
Originally from New Jersery, James has been in Jacksonville for 3 years. He joined the staff at Northwoods in February 2008. In his leisure time he enjoys playing guitar andspending time with his dogs, Rex and Scrappy.
Cassandra Davis - Preschool Director
I am excited to be joining the Northwoods Preschool team this summer to prepare for the 2010-11 school year. My husband, 5 year-old daughter, and I moved to North Carolina in early 2009 after spending almost seven years in Okinawa, Japan. I love working with children and have taught in a variety of capacities since I was a teenager. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I then obtained teaching certification from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I went on to teach both special education and regular education in Wisconsin and Arizona. After getting married in 2002, my husband I moved to Okinawa, Japan where I taught for the Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DoDDS). I also earned my Master’s degree in reading and literacy from Walden University right after my daughter was born.
