Rev. Rick Moser - Pastor

Originally from Hagerstown, Maryland, Rick graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1974 and from Duke University Divinity School in 1977. Ordained as an elder in 1978, he is currently in his sixth appointment, coming to Northwoods in 2002. His wife, Rachel, is also an ordained elder and a pastor at Swansboro UMC. They have three sons; Ben (and Andi), Zack, and Tim who all live in the Raleigh-Durham area.

Rev. Jose Mora - Pastor

Originally from Hatillo, Puerto Rico, Jose graduated from the School of Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico in 1996 and from The Methodist Seminary at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey in 2011. Appointed as a local Pastor since 2006, he is currently in his fifth appointment, coming to Northwoods in 2011 to develop the Hispanic Ministry. His wife, Diana, is a Dental Hygienist, and they have a two year old son, Christopher.

Elizabeth Soukup - Secretary

Originally from Redlands, CA Elizabeth joined Northwoods UMC in January 1995 after moving here with her family. She was hired in February 2008 to be the church secretary. Elizabeth is married and has 3 daughters all of whom have graduated from Richlands High School. Ken, her husband, is retired from the US Navy. The family enjoys reading, music and get-togethers in the back yard with friends.

Diana Evans - Organist

Hi! This is Diana Evans. She is married and has 5 sons. We have lived here in Jacksonville since 1994. Diana holds degrees in business, computer programming, and elementary education. This next year she hopes to gain NC licensures to teach music and/or middle grades math. Diana has been active in music ministry since 1997 and is so excited to be part of the Northwoods family.

James Bozarth - Custodian

Originally from New Jersery, James has been in Jacksonville for 3 years. He joined the staff at Northwoods in February 2008. In his leisure time he enjoys playing guitar andspending time with his dogs, Rex and Scrappy.

Linda Johnson - Preschool Director

Linda is very happy to be the director at Northwoods Methodist Preschool! She has lived in Jacksonville for five years but was raised in New Bern, NC so she considers Eastern NC her home. She has been attending church at Northwoods United Methodist for 4 years and has worked at the preschool for two. Linda has a degree in nursing but has not practiced for several years. She is married and has two children, 3 dogs, and a cat. Linda loves spending time with her family and being outdoors especially when she can be on or near the water. Linda is looking forward to the start of the new school year and all the wonder and excitement that will bring!
