An opportunity to raise money for Family Promise, to help us to think a little more about what some homeless people endure, and a chance to engage with other people of faith in an issue that is being addressed by every church.
Northwoods United Methodist Church is proud to be part of the initial process of Family Promise of Onslow County, Inc. This nonprofit organization seeks to use existing churches to house homeless families with children and assist them in maintaining their dignity while becoming self-sufficient. Currently, St. Julia's AME Zion Church, Swansboro United Methodist Church, Christian Life Fellowship Church, St. Peter's Episcopal Church of Swansboro and Abundant Life Baptist Church have committed to being host churches to these families. We need 10-13 host churches to make this program successful. As we continue to work to recruit host churches, raise funds, obtain a day center and van for transportation, we invite you to join us and these churches in meeting a need in our community.
